"Ultra White" Laser Treatment

Liverpool Cosmetic's is proud to bring you the very latest technology to help you achieve that celebrity smile. With this revolutionary technique, that involves using a safe, clinically approved patented whitening gel, patients can achieve that Hollywood smile. The treatment differs from traditional laser whitening treatments, in that based on your enamel structure, type of discoloration, where the stains are within the enamel and
your age, a customized treatment is performed. With previous treatments all patients received the same treatment, irrespective of the causes of the staining.

Just One Visit

This advanced treatment only requires one visit and the results are visibly lighter for up to 18 months. You will normally be at the clinic for about one hour. Our aim is to create a completely relaxing environment, where you sit back and listen to music during this simple procedure. You will see instant results immediately after treatment and your teeth will continue to go whiter over the next 24 hours.

A Relaxing 60 Minute Treatment

With older systems a gel is applied only once and kept on for up to one hour but this used to cause sensitivity during the treatment. With Liverpool cosmetics', the procedure consists of up to 3 ten minute treatments. This helps us to control and monitor the shade of lightening to achieve the required look.

The treatment starts by preparing the teeth. A retractor is gently placed in the mouth to keep your lips away from the teeth. A barrier cream is then placed around the gum line to protect your soft tissue. This whole preparation takes less than 5 minutes. The dental specialist will then start the treatment by carefully placing the whitening gel on each tooth. The gel is then activated by focusing a cool laser light into the mouth for a 10 minute cycle.

How Teeth Whitening Works

Most of us start out with sparkling white teeth, thanks to their
porcelain-like enamel surface. Composed of microscopic crystalline rods, tooth enamel is designed to protect the teeth from the effects of chewing, gnashing, trauma and acid attacks caused by sugar. But over the years enamel is worn down, becoming more transparent and permitting the yellow colour of dentin - the tooth's core material - to show through.

During routine chewing, dentin remains intact while millions of micro-cracks occur in the enamel. It is these cracks, as well as the spaces between the crystalline enamel rods, that gradually fill up with stains and debris. As a result, the teeth eventually develop a dull, lacklustre appearance.

Teeth whitening removes the stains and debris, leaving the enamel cracks open and exposed. Some of the cracks are quickly re-mineralized by saliva, while others are filled up again with organic debris.
